R100 Digital Scotland

Bringing superfast broadband to Scotland is one of the most ambitious infrastructure programmes in Europe and as such, digital connectivity is a key part of the Digital Scotland Strategy. It sets out the measures which will ensure that Scotland will fulfil its potential in a constantly evolving digital world.

Over £600m is being invested in the Scottish Government's Reaching 100% (R100) programme to ensure that every home and business in Scotland can access superfast broadband – this is a download speed of 30 megabits per second and above.

Currently around 114,000 premises across Scotland are expected to benefit from access to faster broadband through the R100 contracts delivered by us. Almost all of the R100 contract build will be Fibre to the Premises, which is 30 times faster than the Scottish Government’s original commitment, because of this the engineering works will take time and will be phased in over the coming years.
